Looks like a Jan. 2012 release date for George Lucas' "Red Tails" film...

It would be nice if they release a trailer for it soon. I am really curious to see how it looks.

Whoa! Those screen shots look great. Hopefully it's going to be a great film with George Lucas name on it.

Looks good, I'll probably see it.

As far as the special effects, I think they are really hit or miss. Some scenes in the trailer look natural while others scream CGI/ attack on the Deathstar...

I know I'd have preferred to see a fleet of real warbirds filmed rather than the CGI. The film work in BoB was pretty good and they were using real aircraft 40 years ago.

I'd probably reserve judgement on the CGI until the movie comes out. With 5 months before the release, I'm sure they're still working on post production for the movie.

Fair enough, I had not thought of that. I think it will be fun to see it in a theater.

I'm really happy to see this movie coming out soon.

It looks like it should be pretty good. That being said, I'm concerned that facts and reality will be put aside in order to put more entertainment value into the film. Plus, the CG is good, but the flight dynamics seem... well, not 100%.

I will go and watch it when it comes out. It's a story that needs to be told, and needs to be continued on in the minds of future generations.

As a side note, It's a shame that couldn't have done more of the aerial shots in a Battle of Britain movie style way with real planes.

Peace,

David M

Are there ANY real aircraft in the trailer? I didn't see any.

The mass formation of B-17s is awful. That's not a combat box...that's a gaggle! All a/c are at the same altitude +/- 30 feet..I am inclined to believe that the propwash would be overwhelming.

The P-51's are moving slower than the P-40's in Pearl Harbor...only about Mach .75

This would be one rare case where I won't mind if the film isn't 100% accurate, if only because more people need to know this story, especially in the time we are in now.
