This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Hi,
I'm currently working on charting the history of a Stearman I've been working on for a little while and have started flying. Whilst we have all the civilian log books I have no military history for the aircraft. Can anybody point me in the right direction so as to give me a starting point?
Many Thanks

What is the c/n? From that we can come up with the s/n (book "Boeing Aircraft Since 1916). Using the s/n you can contact the historical agencies for either the USN or USAF.

Yak11 Fan,
Ken Wilson is a Stearman historian here in the states that can provide a military history for your aircraft. I had him do a history of my Stearman a couple of years ago, and I believe he charged $ 30. Try him at

If you have not joined the Stearman Restorers Association yet, I think that you would find a wealth of knowledge, both on the forum board and from the quarterly journal.
