After looking at the video a few times it sure looks to me like a PT-19 or Stearman.

I don't think so..the aircraft on the website is in civil markings, and video of the crash site shows military markings on the wing and tail. It looks to be a monoplane, unless the top wing separated and ended up in the river away from the main wreckage.

A sad incident in any case. My thoughts go out to the families of the two onboard. :cry:

Somebody posted what I think must have been a preliminary FAA accident report over on the Flypast forum which identified the aircraft as a PT-19.
