With deep regret I have been informed that Murray Griffiths passed away yesterday morning. More
http://www.warbirdz.net/forum/showthread.php?t=1257.
For those here that don't know, Murray's company, Precision Aerospace, was responsible for the rebuild of the TFC P-40F that was delivered prior to and featured in Legends 2011 at Duxford. Precision Aerospace has a number of other exciting projects underway for other customers and lets hope that these are seen through to completion.
My condolences to his family in this very trying time.

A sad loss indeed, especially hard on the children with his wife passing away as well a few months back. Haven't heard what will happen to the currrent projects at Precision, but no doubt some juggling to occur...

Wow, I never saw this coming.

I corresponded with Murray a number of times over the years and it goes without saying that his efforts and ambitions are legendary in the warbird world. I had always hoped to make the trip to visit his shop one day. Had he fallen ill recently, or was this unexpected?

I met him briefly at Oshkosh '05 and he was a very pleasant and knowledgeable fellow. Always a big smile.
Surely a great loss to family, friends, and the warbird community.
Blue skies
