Yeah it was in our newspaper today. The guys at the races say she isn't flying this year. I need to check on that one tomorrow. Also need to check on the new RARE BEAR RULE........

She might fly this year. Her original ride (along with all the other Viper engined L-29s) were grounded for safety reasons a couple of weeks ago. They borrowed a stock L-29 for her to race, but it needs a few minor things worked out, and she has to get all the paperwork done, race insurance etc. It's very last minute, but may come through. Mike Mangold has also lined up a new ride for this year as well, but is alsoe waiting for all the paperwork and insurance hoops to be jumped through.

Although I don't know Penney well I've met her several times on the flightline both in DC and overseas in 2003. We've talked about flying, he dad, the Bear, etc. She said once she sat in the cockpit for an engine- she loved the noise!

Then Sassesville is the pilot who took me on my incentive ride at Cold Lake in 2005. I'd post a pic if I knew how.
