Fokker Spider Centennial

In the last week of August and the first week of september the first flight of Anthony Fokker (the famous Aircraft designer)
with his "Spider" plane was celibrated in Holland.
On August 31 1911 (Queens day) ,Anthony Fokker flew his "Spider" over the Grand Church of Haarlem.
100 Years later ,a Fokker Spider replica (dating 1936) was placed inside the Church.
After the celibration in the city of Haarlem ,the Fokker Spider was transported back to the Aviation Themepark "Aviodrome"
at Lelystad ,where a special "fokker spider centennial" weekend was organised.
The 1936 Spider was re-assembled again and made its first engine run in the early morning.
This repica flew in 1993 some flights ,but there are no current plans to fly the Spider again.
Another famous Fokker airplane made its first (post-restoration) flight.
In the very early moring "Early Birds Foundation" owned Fokker D-VII (PH-LVA) flew 2 circuits over the field.
On the museum grounds ,some other Fokker designs were on display ,like the Fokker S-11 Instructor ,S-12 ,S-14 MACH-trainer ,
F-27 Friendship ,Fokker 50 ,Fokker 100 and Fokker DR-I (replica).
Inside the museum is another Fokker "Spider" .
This "Spider" is a 1913 original airframe. One of the oldest airframe around.
The museum also holds an original Fokker F-VII and an original pre-war Fokker C-5

Thanks for posting those! Pictures worthy of the occassion, no doubt.
As for flying the Spider again...man, it looks like you'd have to have brass b*lls to do that. Especially when we've have 100 years of safety advances on the backs of a lot of the early guys. The original aviators were really something else.
