My interview with Steve Hinton

Sat Sep 24, 2011 6:13 pm

I got together with Steve at the California Capital Air Show the weekend before Reno. He is such a great guy! I really like him.

here it is http://evanflys.com/steve_hinton

If you don't want to read it, you can listen to it here http://evanflys.com/audio_clips_3 (it's the two clips on the bottom of the page)

We sat in his car while my dad wandered around patiently!

I agree. I've met Steve Hinton on a couple of occasions. If there was ever a guy who could have a monstrous ego but doesn't, he's the one. He is one of the most personable people I've met in a long time.

Great job Evan. I also enjoyed your interview with Larry Perkins. Larry is a very good friend.

Well done Evan, you can't get any better than Steve Hinton. The Mustang pictured was at Reno this year, is that Spam Can?

Thanks

I e-mailed Steve a good few years ago regarding the airworthy Zeros in THAT 2001 film, and he was kind enough to send me a detailed response. Anyone who takes a minute or two from their busy schedule for someone as lowly as myself instantly gets a thumbs-up from me.

Yes, Spam Can is now polished with a yellow nose spinner and yellow horizontal tail.

While visiting Planes of Fame in late 2000 while waiting to do some vintage helicopter flying, a museum volunteer took me around behind the ropes and introduced me to Steve. A very nice guy..I was very impressed.

Evan, I'm not going to repeat all the Kudos stated here....You deserve all of them. You really have a great future in the warbird community if you keep up your current interest and learn from those you interview. You're doing wonderfully.
