Harvard panel pics/info

Mon Oct 03, 2011 8:42 pm

Can anybody provide high res photos or a diagram of some sort which shows what instrumentation would generally be found on the lower portion of the front panel in a Harvard? (The area outlined in red.) I'm attempting to duplicate the panels for a flying model project and thus far have not found much detailed info. Any and all help appreciated.

Hi Chad,

Here's the diagram for the Harvard Mk 4 right out of the manual:

And here's a photo of the lower panel on Harvard 20304, which had been in storage since 1964!

So from left to right we have:
- the box containing the 'fingers' indicating flap and gear position, as well as the landing light switches, gear locked indicating lights, and gear horn cut-out switch
- the oil cooler shutter operating knob
- placard holder (compass?)
- parking brake
- 'Max diving speed...etc' placard
- Parker engine primer
- two more placard holders
- engine fire extinguisher placard/pull handle

If you need higher-res shots let me know. I took a ton of photos of '304 before we disassembled her since she was a time capsule.
