Sweet site, I never knew that I cared about any of that till I read it.. Very cool and from my old stomping grounds in NJ. When I was at Wright Patterson a few weeks ago I got to get up close and personal with a X-15. I have no idea how they flew that darn thing!

Thanks! I'm from Pompton Plains, though I never saw the building they mentioned. I remember being in the back yard many times in the early 60's and hearing the rocked motors being tested and my dad telling a very young me that that was the sound that would help get us to the moon.

Always thought that most of the X-planes were pretty slick, even the weird ones. But the X-15 is without a doubt the slickest. Thanks for posting!
