Don't know about flying examples, but I'm willing to wager that Ohio has the most B-17s...not to mention a D, E, F, and two Gs!

Texas has two flying B-17s -- Texas Raiders and Thunderbird. And for the next few days, we'll have three, since Chuckie is coming "home" for the VFM Hangar Dance this weekend! 8)

Texas has one flying B-29 -- FIFI. Since there is only one, that means we have the greatest number. :D

Texas also has the most flying civilian F-4s !

7 complete B-17s in California:

March
Castle
Palm Springs
Chino (Piccadilly Lilly)
Chino (Swamp Ghost)
Tulare
Orange County (Gen Lyon)

Plus another project in the LA area

There are at least 12 airworthy P-51s within a 60-mile radius of me in NorCal. And that's not counting those in the LA area

Well, we still have more variety, as well as three combat veterans.

I would say Tennessee has the most flying P-47's.
