Interesting in that he escaped North Vietnam as a teenager then went through training in US to return to South Vietnam to kill the North Vietnamese and ended up nearing 10yrs later escaping on a B727 he flew...

Quite an insight some may never seen before.

Ive just brought a book on Korean War F-80 operations from a pilot who flew 115 missions. Bully Able Leader. Worth a read by all Korean enthusiasts.

Just sort of finished this book. To clarify.... he escaped Vietnam as a passenger on a USAF C-141. I understand and support his staunch anti-Ho Chi Min/Communist stand. However, that REALLY gets in the way of a story that is very difficult to follow. It seems that every time it starts getting good, he goes into either the history of Uncle Ho, the centuries of oppression by other countries or rehashing how the war started. I would honestly say that 50% or less of this book deals with his actual flying and combat experience.

It really does give a unique perspective of the war; but, it isn't an easy read.
