Hey! Good one of the Chastain's machine! This is the one based in St. Louis.

Wow, N5160 looks every bit as good in this shot as she did when I saw her in '87 at Creve Coeur (St.Louis); have a shot of Phil Chastain in front of the superbly restored T-1 with the award he'd just picked up at a fly-in.

At that time there were two Rawdons at Creve Coeur, N5160 and another somewhat less immaculate (but still quite presentable) example in the museum hangar there. These two are still the only Rawdons I have ever seen; and Mr Chastain had to tell me what the aircraft was. A very good type with which to "stump" people!

Thanks for posting that Brandon. I emailed Phil Chastain a while back about his plane. He was able to answer many of my questions about Rawdons. Sadly, they lost all the restoration pictures and such in the flood a few years back.

Phil's Dad , Jack Chastain, was the factory test pilot for Rawdon and is the gentleman that did the first flight on my airplane. He also was one of the pilots that delivered the three Rawdons down to Colombia.

Hopefully mine will look at least half as good as theirs does when I finally get it finished.

Don,

I'd love any photos you can get! There can never be too many Rawdon pictures.

Thanks,
