Dayton Air Show Pics

Thu Jul 21, 2005 10:11 am

Went to the Dayton Air show last weekend just got around to uploading my pics. There were very few warbirds there. The F-22s didn't flyby because of the weather. Saturday very few acts went up because of low cloud cover. There were 2 statci F-117s and one went up to go do some flybys at 2-3 other airshows. It came back within 10 minutes due to an engine fire! Expensive fix. Sunday's weather was much better. The Thunderbirds got to do their high show. It was nice. The F/A-18F Super Hornet guys were great and invited us way out on the hot ramp. Got some great shots of some other stuff. We also got in the cockpit great plane.

It looks like I may need to try and hit that show one of these years.

Most likely the only way I'll G-Girl, Did they fly her?

Only Porkey flew, and it was only during the Heritage Flight. ALthough th eannouncers annouced it as G-Girl, then again the confused a F6 with an F8. I still have some shots from back at the show in 03 when it was the first time the two P-38s flew together. Then I got air classics and i guess there was a later date that they "officially flew together" I wish they would of repeated that experience.

I think that is that very Tasty bait for the GG's home show with POF's P-38.
Another show I'd like to make.

Was that the CWH Lancaster I see on the ramp at Dayton???? I thought they weren't going to anymore airshows let alone ones outside Canada?

Hey guys, what about GENESEO??? You would be the center of attention there! :D

They (CWH- Lancaster) also put on the best flying of the day, really nice flyovers before they landed, But Sentimental Journey put on a great show also! I you saw it coming it made for some great pictures.

Michael, are you going to have a fraction of a sec over the weekend to meet a few of us at ToM?
