Wow... did you feel like you had gone back in time when you were walking around taking the pictures!?!?

So... you would have flown your Herk in there? Bet yours looked nicer than theirs!

Brad, thanks for sharing them. It almost looks like the ramp at Laredo, Texas with the box haulers going into Mexico.

Cheers,

Lynn

Honduran C-47s

Hi all,

Brad, thanks for sharing the photographs. I understand the C-47s and L-188 are currently up for sale.

Tom, the Honduran Air Force (FAH) acquired it's first C-47 in 1947, and by 1969, a total of seven (of eight) were in service. FAH 304 (shown in one of the photos) was purchased on October 18, 1962; however, the remaining aircraft (FAH 308 thru FAH 314), from 1970 thru 1974, none of which was then painted in cammo color scheme (which was standard on most FAH aircraft). They were painted in FAH paintshops.

Having reviewed the USAF service record for each 'bird', none seem to have operated in South East Asia.

Cheers,

Amado
