My daughter is doing some work on her house that was built in 1952. She took the ceiling down on here porch and look what was used by the carpenter during construction...an old Crate board from Pratt & Whitney's Southington, Connecticut Plant!

No plans to take it out since it's part of the roof, but it is neat. Makes me wonder how many more boards like it are in the house!!!

Shortly after the end of WW2 my mother's neighbor bought a crated surplus CG-4. The cost for the crated glider plus the cost of shipping was less than the cost of the lumber in the crate if purchased locally. The lumber from the crate was used to in the construction of an addition on the neighbor's house. The glider was assembled and served as a play ground for the local kids for a few years until it was disposed of.
