Saturday's Paratroop drop.

This probably isn't really Wix hanger material, but I thought some of yall might be interested in seeing this. Besides; I'm all out of Honduras pictures :D

Way too darn early this morning, I took another Loadmaster up to Ft. Bragg, NC for his checkride. We ended up dropping two lifts of the 82nd Airborn Division. Two hundred and four jumpers.

Aside from the fact that I'm supposed to be busy evaluating a kid, It's a little hard to take pictures of any quality because of the turbulance and vibration of the plane, but I did what I could.

I run a different division now, but I used to manage the company that makes the cargo ramp actuators, cargo (upper) door actuators and the paratroop blast deflector actuator on the C-17. The division that I run now makes the load equalization cylinders in the cargo floor, as well as the ramp toe actuator, nose wheel steering valve and a few other misc components. A question for you. Boeing has adopted a "0" leakage policy on all dynamic actuators when we deliver hardware to the C-17 production line. The mil spec allows one drop per 25 cycles. They claim that it is driven by the "nit-picky"AF crews that accept the new aircraft in Long Beach. Do you ever notice any in service leakage on our hardware?
