OK so the visit was on Wednesday ~ but I didn't have time to do anything with the pix until today .......
The Battle Of Britain Memorial Flight Visitor Center is housed on RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire.
Visitors can view the winter maintenance of the aircraft fleet from the designated walk-way during one of the frequent guided tours.

Let's start with a snap of the sectioned Rolls Royce Griffon engine .....

Next is Hurricane ~ LF363

Photography is challenging because of the light coming into the hanger directly opposite

Exhaust stubs await refitting .....

And the spinner

Spitfire ~ MK356 ~ UF - Q ~ is painted in the marks of No.601 Squadron in 1944

Spitfire PR.XIX ~ PS915

Spitfire PR.XIX ~ PM631

We best not forget to include Lancaster ~ PA474

And finally .......
Spitfire TE311 ~ 4D - V ....... which should fly again in 2012 after long term restoration ~ started in 2001.

Lurking in the background ~ Spitfire ~ LA255 was held with No.1 Squadron and is believed to be currently stored

Last but not least ~ Spitfire ~ AB910 nearest the camera. It's about to be repainted into the colors it actually wore when serving
with No.133 ( Eagle) Squadron in 1942

Further details can be found on this page on the BBMF web site ~
