If anyone has a manual for the Taylorcraft L-2M I'm looking for a copy of page 30-31 in Appendix II "Flight Operating Charts". I've tried locating these pages several places with no joy. Thought I would try my luck here. Thanks for the help.

Our manuals are missing them, too...

My airplane also spent time on Cannon Field, so I'm hoping it is a case of all the manuals coming from the same source. As for now the mystery continues.

My copy of AN 01-135DA-1, Pilot's Flight Operating Instructions (20 January 1944; revised 25 October 1944) ends at page 30 (disclaimer page/additional copies may be obtained from ...).
What chart(s) are you looking for?

If you look on page 23 you'll see 6 charts listed. I'm missing 5,6. Take-off, Climb, and Landing Chart- L2m (Page 30). The following chart says it's a Flight Operation Instruction Chart L2M, L2A, L2B, and L2M (Page 31). FYI...mine was updated on the same date. Should be apples to apples. Thanks for the help.

I'll have to check it out when I get home. I've never noticed.

Had a look at my manual. What you have should be complete. It looks like a typo/error on the Appendix II charts listing. The charts actually start on page 24, not 26 as listed. So everything is off by 2 pages.
Most likely two pages were combined/deleted and the page numbers not corrected.
I was pretty sure the L-2M info was in there -- at least on my copy.

Matt,
All it says is, "Quit f***ing around and get a real liaison plane like an L-5!"

But that version was superseded and L 5 was replaced with L 4. I am pretty sure that was the final copy.

John,
You're welcome to come fly in the L-2 anytime. It's the only WWII L-bird I know of that was so far superior in design they had to put spoilers on the wings to help it return to Earth. Perhaps its greatest attribute is 3.86 gallons per hour @ 80mph. Now that's something to brag about.
P.S. - it really would be fun to go buzz around together. We're trying to organize a fly-in at KOMH. Thinking about mid May. All are welcome.

The spoilers are there to give people time to get out of the way while you are diving towards the earth to get up to 80 mph.

L4? Adopted only because it met the requirements of the artillery- You can put down one bad horse with a single shot from a .45 and Piper met the specifications by allowing all 65 horses in an L-4 to be put down with the same single round...
Matt, keep me posted and if the time allows, I'll try to be down. You have to bring that thing to our Field Maneuver in September.
