When men wore sharp suits, shades and... a Cat

Just found this one on the magnificent San Diego Air & Space Museum Flickr Stream.

Model 28 : Consolidated/Convair Aircraft Factory San Diego by San Diego Air & Space Museum Archives, on Flickr

It's not a PBY in the background, but presumably one of the very first Catalinas, going by the roundel. On the right is Consolidated test pilot Bill Wheatley. The other man is identified as 'Commander Adams'. Any suggestions as to which Adams he may be?

Brief bio of Wheatley here: http://thetartanterror.blogspot.com.au/ ... -1941.html
(And the Tartan Terror's blog is a great site for a HUGE number of test pilot bios. Well worth a browse: http://thetartanterror.blogspot.com.au/ )
