Sat May 26, 2012 6:09 pm

Restoration is continuing on the Sikorsky Memorial Corsair but we are looking for some parts to copy or work with.

Main Gear & Tail Wheel Doors

Engine Accessory Panels & lower intercooler panel

Anyone have a set we could borrow or for sale or parts / scrap pattern material for sale (or better yet donation?)

Please PM me thanks!

CB13:

A few poss places to look for FG-1D parts:

1. Place your add in the FAS forum: http://www.flotilla-area.com

Someone in there may know about some poss FG-1D parts still hanging out at Ilopango

2. There were able to built a FG-1D mock-up sample with all these parts in a place near La Union. Pictures later on.

3. And last but not least, there is an FG-1D FAS 219 in under some 500-700 ft of ocean water near a place called "Playitas" near La Union. This was the sample shot down by friendly fire c. July 1969. As far as we know it is still there. With the proper gov contacts and some sonar equipment, that particular plane would be easy to locate.
