Military aviation returns to Tinian

Thu May 31, 2012 8:41 am

For the first time in 60+ years there has been a military landing at the famous North Field on Tinian Island in the Marianas! The USMC cleared runway "Baker" of the jungle overgrowth and landed a C-130 for thier exercise "Geiger Fury". They have also been flying F/A-18s in and out of West Field (now Tinian International Airport) which was originally the fighter base during World War II.
