Whatever it is, it sure is great to see another Marauder taking shape. There are far too few of them, flying or not. Will this one be a flyer?

This one will be static. Glad to see MAPS reaching this milestone in the restoration! That group has been through a lot with MARC moving planes out from under them and it's nice to see them getting the chance to complete the work on the B-26. Hope to see her one day when she's completed.

Great job guys.She has come a long way from the days sitting in the backyard at marc.Wait till you get to make the leading edges for those wings.You aint gonna use a farnum roller that you can be sure.I am talking about the outboard sections of course.I appenticed under the man who made the set for the former flier back in the early 90s.He did an outstanding job using a 12 foot break.His name was Jerry bachsbauer.Rip Jerry.Those were great times.

Should be standing on her gear soon, the first time since January 5th, 1942. That's 70.5 years!

Actually it's Jerry Bocksberger. (1910-1992). It's sad when he passed away there were no obituaries in Aviation papers.

Jerry was a genius in metal working and he also made the bomb bay doors and cowlings for the airplane. He worked at either Curtiss or Bell in Buffalo during the war. I used to hang out at Chino every Sat from, 1990-1993. Truly great times and characters around then.

She's really looking great! The Marauder has always been one of my favorites.

The first time I visited the MAPS was probably 10 years ago. At the time, a volunteer said they didn't have any parts for the Marauder forward of the firewalls (engines/cowls/props etc.) Have they managed to source the parts, or will they have to be manufactured?

My naive question of the month......(my wife will say:"of the minute" )....however,
Could this airframe be returned to flight status?...........
Is the basic structural restoration sufficient that only the systems need to be prepared?
Just curious.
