This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

I can confirm that the original RF-4C Phantom 67-0448 "Carolina Kangaroo" that the Vietnam Veterans museum in Australia tried to acquire - as it had links to the museum's Patron, Alan Reed who is a former high ranking RAAF officer (who i know having interviewed last year for an upcoming Australian Pilot magazine article) - was sadly recently shot down on a drone mission.
Alan and others from the VVM had tried to source this very aircraft which he flew in the Vietnam War while on exchange with the USAF.
Earlier this year i wrote a letter to the USAF to enquire if any last minute cancel to the drone missions could be achieved but sadly due to this RF-4C been droned and (now) dead effectively, the museum would be the chance to acquire a similar RF-4C aircraft instead and this is still going ahead.
The museum has been i am told also lined up hopefully for quite a few more USN aircraft, types unknown at this time.
