One of the most unusual canopy mods I've seen on an Avenger tanker/sprayer. I wonder what the purpose of it was?

Its an actual modification used by the Royal Canadian Navy. The designation is AS 3 Mk2 (AS 3M2). Only two of the 125 RCN Avangers were converted to this configuration. The enlarged canopy was for an Observer position. It was known as the OM's search station. The photo is either aircraft 421(86175) which became CF-JJB or 386( 53078).

I still like the "it's for a Giant" theory.
