Jeff--

That'd be a "yes"...

Oh how I wish a certain local outfit could/would go after C-FDNL...she'd be so much more impressive than the big plastic thingy that's there now...

Couple more pix of DNL.

At Tillsonburg (CHAA home base) a couple years ago, parked under a very British-looking sky, with an old adversary for company...

I'm a little late to the party...but what happened with this bird?

The Hurricane has always been one of my favorites. It's role in the Battle of Britain tends to be underplayed, but the RAF had twice as many Hurricanes available during the battle than they did Spitfires. Then again, I'm probably preaching to the choir here.

I've always had an affinity for the Mark IID version with the 40mm guns. I'd love to see a Hurricane restoration in North Africa colors, and IID would be a bonus.

SaxMan--

'Tisn't a IID, it's a IV with IIC wings...but it's in flawless 6 Sqn RAF (Flying Can Openers) North Africa livery. Seen a year ago at home at Gatineau, Quebec, this is C-FTPM/KZ321 of Mike Potter's Vintage Wings of Canada collection. (Proving there's no such thing as too much of a good thing, Mr Potter also has a Hurricane XII under restoration.)

Ain't she a beaut...

...Oh, and C-FDNL/RCAF 5481, at last word, was still for sale (along with Mr Russell's Me109) at Niagara South. That collection's Spitfire (C-FFLC/MK912) was sold a year or so ago and returned to the UK, now residing with a spectacular assembly of other Spits at Biggin Hill.

Agreed. A real Hurricane would be a great addition to the collection, especially one built in Canada.

I would sure love to see CWH or VWoC acquire DNL!

She was used in the flypast we did for Charley Fox's funeral in 2008, along with nine Harvards and Spitfire MK912.
