I just found this picture on the net, any news on this recovery, or is this old news?

A Lake Michigan recovery perhaps?

Lake Michigan recovery. Not the one I saw brought up 3 years ago as this one doesn't have all the zebra mussels on it. That will teach me to look at my pictures closer.

I think you will find B-23 came up in the 1990s, but it has only in recent times that it has been undergoing restoration.

As Dave mentioned, this is one of the aircraft recovered in the early-mid 90's (s/n 36177) and completed restoration within the last few years. The aircraft is now on display at Ford Island, following a mixture of restoration and preservation work. Where possible, the original paint/finish was preserved and still remains, while other portions of the aircraft required new paint to be applied, with some effort to closely match the existing original paint.
