If anything my time on Wix has shown me is there are no stupid questions when it comes to safety.
We are stripping the paint off of our Sikorsky H-19. What precautions should we take if we encounter Magnesium on the skins. I believe regular Jasco stripper may react and possibly cause issues. We have had no problems so far, I'm just being cautious.

Drew,
According to JASCO's MSDS page use on reactive substances including magnesium is to be avoided.
How about a nice baking soda strip then all you need are cotton rags soaked in vinegar to remove any baking soda powder remains so you can go home smelling like a nice garden salad.
Be keerfull buddy!

Drew, I applaud your efforts to be safety-conscious, but I will not attempt to hide my disappointment that this thread turned out to be something completely different than what I was expecting.

Yeah, I was expecting tips for pasty safety wiring, or tassel awareness training.

Like anything else, when working with strippers make sure you wrap yourself up well.

Drew,
It's not a question of "if" you'll encounter magnesium. The H-19 skin is a magnesium-aluminum alloy. I have the data at home and will get it to you when I return on Sunday.
By the way, if you have a little time for packaging this weekend, my checkbook is at the ready...
