Tuskegee Airmen

There's a great series going on over here in the UK at the moment called Heroes Of The Skies. Don't know whether you will get it over in the US, but I hope so.

The subject the other night was the Tuskegee Airmen and I must admit that I knew little or nothing about them until a couple of nights ago and it was really great to see a programme about them.

Other subjects in the series are, Douglas Bader, Canadian George Beurling, Lancaster ME669 where one crewman climbed along the wing to successfully put out an engine fire , only to be attacked again by a night fighter whilst he was still clinging to the wing. Not surprisingly he won a VC !, and I think the last one is about Operation BOLO
