Does not look like any Mustang radiator I've ever worked with, either A, B-C or D. I wish they were that small!

It's one segment of a United Aircraft Products radiator as it states. Seven of those segments are connected with manifolds to create one radiator assembly. The segment in the picture has apparently been modified by the addition of a water neck soldered into the tank. It's actually upside down in the picture also. The two bolt flange visible on the end of the tank is actually where the lower or outlet manifold would attach. If you could see the other end it should have a similar two bolt flange in the center of the tank where the inlet manifold connected.

Hey, thanks for posting that Glenn. Very informative. I've seen the Martins and Harrisons out of the airplane but they were always completely assembled. I never knew they were segmented like this. How many of these segmants support the aftercooler?

Hello John,
The Harrison and Martin radiators are not segmented. Only the United radiators were segmented as in the illustration. Two segments supported the Aftercooler and the other five supported the main engine cooling.
Thanks,
Glenn
