Hurricane Sandy, everyone ok?

Tue Oct 30, 2012 7:44 pm

Hopefully everyone in the affected areas made it thru the storm ok with minimal damage. Some of the photos I have been seeing are quite amazing.

We had a fairly minor basement leak, but other than that, we're okay. Power stayed on the whole time.

Anyone heard from August? (k5083).

And yes, for those in the area, hope you came through OK. Many didn't.

We made it thru it relatively unscathed. Had one door latch gave way and was standing out in the rain and wind fixing it. Only lost power for a second. So all in all we did pretty well.

Monday and Tuesday we had high winds, Tuesday and Wednesday have had nothing but rain. Our thoughts go out to those affected worse than us.

The CASCs shop and hangars were inundated with sea water. Were still assessing damages.major clean up we lost a few things. All of our machinery was soaked in salt water....

Here in southern Delaware we made out fine. We're 15 miles inland, but the eye passed just 20 miles north of us but we had no damage to the house, trees, or property. We only lost power for 10 seconds....way to go Delmarva Power!

As for my mother-in-laws house in Fenwick Island? Well they had a foot of water on the first floor (garage) so we've got some clean up to do down there. But still pales in comparison what happened up north.

Safe and sound, but still without power and likely to be for several more days. Also hoping all wixers in the region are well.

I just got power back myself. Just a few miles from the Belmar beaches in NJ. Glad I don't lives closer as the surge was horrible for those near the water.

All I want to do now is take a nice hot shower.

I'm still without power in Bucks County PA. Friends got it back at 12:30 am about 10 miles east so hope they keep coming my way.
