46-377...officially the last operational F-82 in USAF inventory...retired November 12, 1953 at Elmendorf.

Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing the Harkers' flier in these colors.

This thread must have slipped off the main page before I had a chance to look at it.
I've always loved the twin Mustang ever since I first heard of the concept.
I was lucky enough to see the one fly at Harlingen in 1984. Way cool!
As far as markings go, there is something about the gloss black night finish that just says DO NOT "F" with me!
The blue tails with stars and rainbows.....
well, taste is an individual thing

Andy, I can't imagine there are too many WIXers that would disagree with you.

IF the Harkers would decide to create and mount a radar dong on their restoration, then I also would have to vote for an all-black scheme in honor of the Korean Gs. The variety of nose art that could be used makes one drool.







However (and this is just me now, mind you), something about the CAF's Merlin-engined flier always cried out, "I'm trying to be something I'm not."

I realize that--due to attrition--some Korean Gs later flew missions without the dong. But for me, an all-black bird flying without the dong is... well... um...

Having grown up in farming country, I think you know what it reminds me of!

Don't forget that through the 1980's many warbirds were trying to be something that they were not.
I don't want to get visited by the paint police, but, given the chance to see any twin mustang fly. I won't be fussy. Nevermind two!!
As for growing up in farm country that cracks me up Dan!

We'll just have to wait and see and enjoy the prospect.

As for the future of all black warbirds. P-61 comes to mind, also the flying nightmare at Meyers motors. Bada$$!!
