This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

As per the thread here:
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=47748 Scott's very reasonably looking for some financial love for WIX. Several good posters have made PayPal payments (good on them).
As we know, often 'bigger is better'. I've been cudgelling the brains to see if I could think of a sponsorship deal which would inject a regular amount of cash to the site. (I'll give a nod to DaveM2's 'Classic Wings' who support this site, and also now sponsor Dave Homewood's Wings Over New Zealand as well - all credit to CW.) I've not come up with any bright ideas, but rather than leaving it there, I thought I'd throw the question open to the WIX team. Can anyone organise a major sponsor that would be good for a significant monthly donation over a number of years?
Let's hear the ideas, or better still - someone say "I've arranged for..."

What would it take to get a charitable tax exempt status in the US?

Forgive my ignorance, but if there were to be a dream sponsor to step from the shadows and offer an amount that would cover one year's base expenses for the operation of WIX, what would that amount be? $500, $100, $10,000, $50,000? I've never run a web site and have no idea ...

Reasonable possibility. I have someone in mind who would be open to discuss the idea of a version of sponsorship, rather a memorial sponsorship of sorts. As stated by Ken, a few more details would be required. The powers that be can feel free to contact me via PM anytime if interested. Rest assured I wouldn't worry too much about the financial end of operating WIX, the issues would be more towards the time and effort, along with a good amount of aggravation, to operate such a website. IMHO
