While one drops bombs, a few thousands km away in US these same type of jets fly as warbirds.

I think the Skyhawks are mostly used by training squadrons now. Maybe the IAF is trying to get trainees some quality operational time.

There are numerous combat-type military jet aircraft on the U.S. civil register that are still being operated by air arms around the world:

MiG-21, 23, 29 (edit)
SU-25, 27 (edit)
T-33 (yes, there are countries still operating ARMED AT-33s, such as Mexico and Bolivia)
A-4
F-4
F-5
Harrier
and probably more that I can't think of at the moment (too much wine with my Italian dinner tonite!)

Lots of jet trainer types, too.

Add L-39s to the list. From what I have read the Syrians are using them to bomb rebel positions.

I would surmise that the Skyhawk is a trainer engaged in "roof knocking". The IAF will drop a bomb that essentially only has an acoustic component to warn civilians in the area that they are near a target and need to get out of Dodge before the bomb with TNT comes through.
