Offutt AFB Airshow 2005, Pics!

Mon Aug 29, 2005 12:09 pm

Howdy all.

No proffesional and middle range cam but got some pretty good picks. No time to title them all today. Thuderbird was looking great as was Big Beautiful Doll and Gunfighter. Actually all of the WWII birds looked great and I got some good shots of an SBD finally!

Was a good weekend for me.

Thanks for sharing. Any idea who owns the Mohawk? They aren't exactly a common warbird(unless you happen to be near Anoka :) )

I know I have it written down somewhere. At my office now so will look tonight. He did a full thrust reversal demo and it was COOL. He landed at show center and it seemed like the instant he touched the ground he did full reverse pitch without changing throttle. We were a good three hundred yards or more away and you could feel the reverberations.

Neat stuff.

Looks like a fun show. Nice to see the Navy showed up somewhere, they cancelled all a/c for the Westfield Airshow this past weekend in Mass :(

There were two T-45C there, so not everthing was missing.

COOL,

Looks liek we were standing pretty close to each other for those taxi pics. And of course you must have a camera with a GREAT zoom.

Hope your OV 1 pic helps others identify it. I know I wrote down who and where on it just have to dig through my bag.

Thanks for sharing Dante. From your photos it looks like the Mohawk is OV-1D 69-17004/N101VD owned by Vvoortech Inc of Council Bluffs. It's also nice to see my favorite B-25 out and about.

Oh, I miss Omaha.

I was actually stationed there when I was in the Airforce ( 1989-1998 ) and the last photo there with the F4, was the building I worked in.

It was a great spot to work there, because I could just come to work, and look out the door and smack, I was there in the air show front and center.

Miss those days.

Wish I could have made it down there for this years show.

Have any new pictures of the RC-135R? They retro fitted the RC-135 ( I supported them and the E-4B at Offutt) with "R" Model engines finally, but never saw one up close yet. Can still hear them old water burners ( load bastards) taking off.

Tks for sharing Dante!

FAH619 I want to know who is the author of the photo (name completes), BU. #, when it was taken and where?

Those are some nice shots. On a 135 note, are all the KC-135s with the "new" engines C-135R? I get the idea that they are but can anyone confirm this?
