This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Don't know if it was mentioned here earlier, but just found out that Cdr. Voris, the original Blue Angel, passed away earlier this month....
May he rest in peace.

Hi Tulio,
There's an earlier posting at
http://warbirdinformationexchange.org/p ... php?t=4627 with a link to a brief report on his career.........

Thank you, Roger.
As I said, I did not know if it had been posted earlier (and I did not do a search here, of course).
I still remember the old t.v. series (black and white) where Voris was shown flying Grumman (Panthers?) in Korea.
Thank you for the link.
Saludos,
Tulio

I just remembered reading about it previously on the link, so it just took me a minute to find. I had the pleasure of going to dinner with him and his wife a few years ago, and of having him as a speaker at one of our NCC AAHS luncheons. A very nice person and enjoyable to listen to him talk. We lose so many like him each day.

You are right, Roger. We lose many of them, every day.
With the abundance of video cameras, relatives should get their loved ones to describe or to even comment on their experiences, for future generations.
Once they are gone, their voices can tell us a lot about ourselves and how our country endured and survived those critical years.
For whatever it is worth, and for everyone who has served honorably, my deepest thank you, for your services and sacrifice.
Saludos,
Tulio
