News from the NASM, especially you F-100 fans!

Tue Feb 26, 2013 11:21 am

The NASM's North American F-100 will go on display at the Udvar Hazy Center newly painted on or about April 1st! Also exciting news from the restoration center at the UHC. Restoration work on the Helldiver has begun! The engine has been removed and torn down to address corrosion problems, the control surfaces are being replaced and some instrumentation is being worked on. The plane will be repainted to represent how it looked at the end of the war. The restored Helldiver is scheduled to go on display at the UHC on or about Dec 1st of this year. Good news all the way around!
