Flying gear - why it was important in WW2

During WW2 it became clear that life preservers were a CRITICAL part of the airmen list of item.

These videos show why and how the life preservers worked and some cases not as well as hoped for.

Sadly to trial such LPU, the british had to put a person to sleep for these to be done .. but shows you put
the properties of the Mae West, B-4, German vest and 2 others...
