Great photos!
Censoring the swastikas sucks though....

Why alter history?

Excellent series of photos. Too bad the swastikas and I am guessing Hitler's photo have been censured but as I say, excellent, thanks for postingthese.

WOW!
Thanks for posting those amazing photos!
I love the fuselage rotisseries. They must have added a great deal of efficiency.
The reputation of the 109 is clearly evident by all of those ground loop shots.
This thread is especially timely, with what I think, is the oldest 109 extant being restored at MeierMotors.
Thanks again

I wonder at what point the swastikas were censored, and why. It might have been a way to save the photos while complying with a "Do Not Display Swastikas" law.
I love the two-bladed prop in some photos. Looks like a constant speed unit, too. Nice looking piece of equipment.
Do I understand correctly that these photos show Messerschmitt 109 production in Vienna, Austria? I know Vienna fairly well, as I worked there for six months (well, the nearby airport actually). Who knows, maybe there's fifty perfectly preserved 109s packed in crates underground!
(Sorry, couldn't resist).

That's what I figure. What I can't figure out is why the portrait was censored. I think we all know who it is, but I don't think there is any law against his image. Guess they were just being careful. By the way, it looks like the censoring was done very hastily on a computer. MS Paint perhaps?

(The marks on the Swastika at the top of the picture look suspiciously like an "eraser tool".

I think these are E-3s as they have outboard wing cannon...just wanted to check as a recently finished a 1/48 Euard E-1 that had gun-only armament...

EXCELLENT!!!!! a peek into the unknown for most of us, and a chance to get a good look @ early Luftwaffe camouflage designs as well as the relaxed pace of building the earlier aircraft.
THANX for posting them

Okay, so the aircraft in the first set of photos in the above post is a
Bf 108, but what is the second twin-engined one. It brings to mind a Fw 189, but I know that's not it. I'm guessing it's a Messerschmitt seeing as that is what all the other aircraft models are. (I'm gonna kick myself for not knowing this.)
For that matter, whose roundels are those?
