Preserved Vampires in Chile

Thu Mar 14, 2013 11:39 am

I have just found this on the Chilean Museum website. Does anyone know the identities of the Vampire airframes?

Thank you in advance.

Regards,

David Watkins

Today, you can have five copies of the Vampire that endure to this day. One was installed as gatekeeper at the base The Condors, is another monument inside Cerro Moreno, a third is in private hands in La Chimba, south of Antofagasta and finally there are two more devices, properly preserved by the MNAE where present and future generations of Chileans, most aviation enthusiasts around the world can be brought into contact with these early jets Chilean Air Force.

Mike: Thank you for the link

The airframe at La Chimba is incorrectly marked as "WZ419". Can anyone provide its real identity?
