Congrats to the new owners. That was the recent EBay PBY. I heard it maybe going down under. A group of us were looking at it too but couldn't confirm the originality of the data plate with respect to getting a confirmation as to whether or not this specific PBY was a former Coast Guard PBY. We tried to get pics of the data plate from the seller with no success so we backed off.

According to Mr. Dave Swanson

, the past registration was YV-485C
And as she will be a static

, the Catalina will not be registered in Australia.

Its most recent registration was N7238Z but I don't think it was painted on the airframe which remained marked as YV-485C, its former identity.

Any idea on what the deal is with the engine types on this PBY? I looked at Wiki and they have several 1830 variants listed for PBY's but I didn't see a -75 listed. Just curious.....
