any ww 2 chinese air aces??

was reading an article about general chennault's 14th air force in china. it mentioned that u.s. trained chinese pilots in u.s. lend lease aircraft had their own fighter groups attached to the 14th airforce. did any of these chinese pilots attain ace status?? or any victories?? i've never seen any info on it. no offense to anybody of chinese nationality, but the article alluded to the fact that the ww 2 era chinese troops were not that aggressive overall, but surely there were some pilot stand outs!! any answers?? best, tom

According to it's record card my Stearman was used to train Chinese cadets in Texas, but probably too late for any of them to have seen service during the war.

great info!!! many thanks!!!! also more aces than meets the eye!!! denmark, belgium etc, as examples. alot of untold stories their!!! didn't realize there were so many obscure unknown aces besides the major combatants of ww 2.

The Chinese were more interested in fighting amongst themselves than against the Japanese. They knew that the Japanese would only be a temporary impediment to the fighting of the impending Chinese civil war. The Nationalists and the Communists both were using the Allies as pawns to collect arms for later.

bdk, you are right on the mark. also, the vietnamese were not much different by the time of our involvement in the early 60's
