Can you try to give us more story details in your many threads....so I can decide whether to open the link?
I don't open links from unknown /unclear sources (who/what is "otherhand.org" as opposed to KNBC or the LA Times) as a security measure. Thanks.

As it stands now, it looks like someone is looking for an old Porsche...:)

In all the years that I have posted here, have I EVER posted anything dangerous?
Don't answer that! :P

The guy is an avid "explorer." He finds things that have been lost, mostly by good old fashioned detective work, the help of a GPS, and a lot of boot leather. In this case he hunted down an A12 that went down in 1967 and wrote the story of his search.
You know, A12, Groom Lake?  nudge nudge knowhatimean?

His blog is a fun read all round. Well worth your time. I suggest you go to his "about me" link and dig around. He's a pretty good storyteller!

It is a series of articles about searching for a Lockeed A-12 that crashed near Groom Lake in 1966. Being a CIA A/C there is quite a story in his ordeal to find the crash site.

Thanks for the link. His wreck chasing story was excellent.

The story about the lost Germans was a fantastic story, although a tragic event. Beware, it is long!

I've been following the story about the Germans on various sites over the years; this is by far the best version of the story I've seen. It's also the first one I've seen to mention that the children's remains were finally found as well. :(

A very enlightening, entertaining and well written recounting of what seems to have almost bordered on a minor obsession. Having lived in the Mojave and dune buggied around Baker and Tonopah I can testify to how danged hot (and how damned cold it gets 34 seconds after sundown) it gets between Easter and Thanksgiving and there are a grundle of mining claims/starts/abandonments out there. :supz:
