Fri Jul 12, 2013 9:16 am

A bit of sad and maybe unknown history....in late December 1950 a RAAF Wirraway on a shark patrol in southern QLD crashed in to a crowded section of a beach killing 3 people and injuring many more - http://trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article ... rchLimits= A film and memorial about the crash is in process in 2013 to be done.

Very tragic, yes.

But to make a film from such a ordinary accident?

To clarify, it's a documentary made by one of the survivors and to include survivor accounts etc, not a film as such, and probably only a short doco at that...

The memorial received funding back in 2011, I don't know if it's been installed yet. The doco was also completed back then, not in 2013.

Last November the Attorney -General was reported to be reviewing the evidence from the original inquest and it was announced back in March this year that the A-G would reopen the inquest.
