There are three in static condition at USAF museums, and two under restoration in private hands as far as I know. The two under restoration both came from the Soplata collection. The Harkers own the more complete of the ex-Soplata machines, and a consortium led by Tom Reilly owns the other. I suppose it's always possible that Tom Cruise is an silent owner of one or the other of the two civilian-owned aircraft, but I've not heard any of the rumors you mention.
All the best,
Richard

TC's name was mentioned several years ago as a potential purchaser of the former CAF example. But, of course, the deal fell through. This aircraft is now on static display in Dayton in Korean War markings.

Actually five..two of which should be flying within the next few years. Two of the statics are o display at the USAF Museum in Dayton, and the third is on outdoor display at Lackland AFB..that one desperately needs to be brought in out of the weather.
