Is this the one that they're going to restore to airworthy standards, fly it to its destination and then PARK it?

:?

Well, that's the rumour, and yes, it is this aircraft.

Great - Another airworthy Mosquito soon to be sitting around gathering dust.

What's the point???

Exactly! Like what's the point of saving WWII warships, or even Nelson's flagship, if they don't sail? What's the point of saving 19th century covered wagons if horses don't still drag them around?

Maybe, if the plane survives 200 years, the point will be clear.

Well done guys in BC.

I'd fly the wings off my Mosquito every day, if I could afford one. Better to have them in a state of readiness than not at all.

Certainly the one who pays the bills has the final say in the matter.

But I can't shake the feeling that the rebuilders at Victoria Air will be denied a certain level of recognition that's due them (Gold/Silver Wrench at OSH; does Reno give an award to restorers?).

Being restored and on static display is better than being unrestored or not here at all. They've done outstanding work so far. Can't wait to see pics when it's completed.

explain to me the logic of spending (x) amount of money to make an airplane fly then park it...bloody stupid...
