My uncle sent me this link and I thought that I would share it with WIX, some cool pictures and they're in color!

Judging by the Wright field emblems, any of the photos were taken at Wright-Pat....(update..I just saw the big sign in one photo..:))
Wow, a prototype Cutlass, YF-102,the YB-52, YH-16 early B-47...and hiding behind the blue Cougar on page 2, a very rare Bell HSL twin rotor ASW helicopter.
Notice the Phantom I parked next to a B-52? Wright Pat? And since it doesn't look airworthy (or at least recently flown) I wonder if it was a Wright Pat for the museum or tests?
Great stuff.

BTW: That's the best photo I've seen of the YH-16 anywhere...a change from the one books always use. You can judge its size in this one.

Wow, great pictures. I like the one with the K-Class ship. Interesting configuration they've got there on the ground with elevator deflection. Must want to keep the airship on the ground.

Some really great ‘50s era jets and props! Some of them remind me of airshows with my Dad in the early ‘60s at Glenview Naval Air Station near Chicago. Great stuff! Thanks for posting that link; made my day!

Ok ya'll.....fess up! Who else is jotting down SN & BuNo and looking at where these aircraft might be today? Yeah, me too.

Wouldn't you love to have a time machine and a DSLR and shoot all these aircraft? Then beg the powers that be to save them!?

Love the TF-86 shot.

What a photo set! I especially like the C-97, HUP-3, Cutlasses, B-47s and the early Herc. If someone ever figures out time travel, I'm going back to a 1950s airshow.

What a great time in aviation history! So many types in service, and new ones coming on line all the time. Technology was screaming ahead at an incredible pace. That would have been a fantastic air show to visit, no doubt. I'm just glad someone shot those pics (with good quality, too!) and that they survived for us to see today. Neato! Thanks for sharing them.

Nice shot of a Harpoon with drop tank pylons and rocket stubs on the wings.

Interesting that the C-123 prototype has what looks like Grumman Albatross floats hung under the wings on the drop tank pylons. Were the Albatross floats also fuel tanks?

Cool to see the XC-99 on display. I toured that great machine (or what was left of her) outside Kelly Field in San Antonio back in the early 1990s. I have a set of photos around here somewhere. Almost stepped on a rattlesnake while trying to shoot some of them (that's a story for another time). She's at NMUSAF these days, in many pieces (and I guess some parts have been moved to AMARG for storage). I sure hope she gets restored some day.

That NAS Columbus Corsair is a beauty and a stable mate to our Sikorsky Memorial Bird. Ours was ship #5.

I concur on the YH-16 what a massive ship. Back in the 50's anything was possible. Now ? Meh.

Great stuff, thanks for passing that along to us.
IIRC, the NAS Atlanta PBY "Ship 204" shown was the last flying PBY in the US Navy inventory. I have a painting of it courtesy of Bill Tate, on one of my office walls, here at KPDK, aka old NAS Atlanta.

What an incredible set of photos! Thanks for sharing.

That was an era that had such a huge variety of interesting fighter, bomber, transport, helicopter and other aircraft types.
