C-47 at Charlotte Douglas Intl

On 4 august when I landed at Charlotte Douglas Intl, I saw, on a parking near the end of runway 36R, a C-47 painted with full invasion stripes. She was always here when I took off on 23 august.
Does anyone know which is this airplane? Is she always airworthy?

The C-47 at Charlotte is 43-49926 which went to RCAF and served in China-Burma.

Are you sure that it's associated with Carolinas Aviation Museum? The only DC-3 they have listed on their website wears Piedmont markings.

There used to be a C-47 with invasion stripes that regularly flew into CLT. I think Sabre Air owned it.
Freight hauler. Had a brake failure or some incident at CLT. Incident was posted on WIX. But, that was some time ago.

NTSB investigators may have traveled in support of this investigation and used data provided by various sources to prepare this aircraft accident report.
After an approach to runway 5, and touched down at 85 knots, the airplane yawed right, exited the runway, the right main landing gear collapsed, and the airplane nosed over. Examination of the airplane revealed that a right main wheel brake had locked up, and the landing gear had collapsed. Inspection of the right main landing gear assembly and all associated components could not provide any determination as to what caused the main wheel brake to lockup. The brake assembly was broken down into its component parts and inspected. No evidence of malfunction could be detected. No contamination of the hydraulic fluid was evident.

The National Transportation Safety Board determines the probable cause(s) of this accident to be:

the right main brake locked after touchdown causing the airplane to yaw and depart the runway, resulting in the landing gear collapsing.

This C-47 was owned by Jim Vocell and his partners back in the mid 90's. It was originally white, natural metal, and had Canadian AF markings and was named "Miss Piggy". It was painted in D-Day colors shortly after that and was a regular at the Northeast airshows until they decided to sell it to Sabre Air. It had the accident later and was done donated to the museum.

No it's not Phil. It was a surplus Ex-RCAF C-47 that I believe had been stripped for parts and then Vocell and his guys put it back into flying shape in the mid-90's. Too bad, it was a beautiful bird. before the D-Day colors, it was painted like the ones on this web page:
