Sun Oct 02, 2005 4:33 pm

I just got a call that Canso C-FOFI, Cleared customs and is on it's way to a overnight stop south of Salt Lake City, Ut. Then on to Glendale, Az tomorrow, where it will be assigned the registration number of N343CV to reflect it's RCAF serial of CV343.

What organization will it ultimately be based with?

It is part of a private collection that is based at the Glendale airport, we are planning to open a museum in the future

That is not a RCAF Serial. However it is a Canadian Construction Number!

It is a PBV-1A Canso A, built by Canadian Vickers (hence the CV), Construction Number CV-343 ex RCAF (Serial 11047) Brought On Charge 24.2.44: Struct Off Charge 26.4.62.
ex CF-OFI and C-FOFI

I talked to owner and it appears that when they can get out of Idaho Falls, they will be going non-stop to Glendale.
As to the plans for it, we are looking for a set of blisters, and are planning on painting it back in it's WWII markings
