Found a new project for Taigh !

Mon Sep 23, 2013 7:10 pm

Ran across this forlorn old gal on my way back from Reno. Located in Yerington, Nv. I'm
also shocked at how complete the cockpit still is! Don't know if its for sale, but as they
say; anythings for sale for the right price! I wouldn't mind having it in my backyard 8)

Taigh would have that one flying in about 8 hours.

Looks like that would make someone a nice project.

Thanks for the pictures,
John

Too funny to see a thread with my name in it. 8 hours sounds good but that would include an hour for lunch and 30 minutes to gas and oil it!

I met the owner of this Beech a few years ago at Reno. He doesn't want to sell it, at least t the time he didn't.

Looks like a solid SNB-5 or UC-45J project.

You missed the Beech at the Brothel. Good story about that one...

This kind of thing infuriates me. He'd rather let it sit there and let it sink into the sand? We have the same kind of deal locally but with vintage cars. About 5 miles from here there is some mean old recluse who has his proprty covered with rotting vintage cars...Camaros, Mustangs, a couple 57 Be Airs, El Caminos, Impalas, and at least four chrome-bumpered C3 Corvettes. I would love to get my hands on one of the latter, a two Stingray garage would be great!

I've talked to a couple people that have talked to the old coot about buying a couple and he runs them off the property. :bs:

I tracked the owner down a few years ago myself. Tried to buy it from the city, as they wanted it removed...I found the owner in Vegas, and got the same answer..."not for sale" It had a blown jug on port engine...I have always wondered if the guy had repaired it or not. Used to be an old Aero Commander sitting next to the Beech too...

Sorry, I don't have those options on mine. I didn't seem to miss them in this photo taken while I was flying....
