I really like that first XP-75 shot looking toward the hangar door.

Great shots! Of course, you really need a wide-angle lens in there. Even then, it's hard to get clear shots because the aircraft are packed in so tight.

I've been through SAM 2600 several times..she served a half-dozen Presidents, and it just packed nose-to-tail with history..t's a very humbling experience. Standing in the spot where LBJ was sworn in, seeing the bulkhead that was cut to fit JFK's casket into the cabin, the area where four former Presidents sat on the flight to Anwar Sadat's funeral. Back in the 90s when it was still in service, a museum docent told me that when they eventually got the plane the interior would be retrofitted as it was configured during the Kennedy years. I really hope they don't..there's just too much history in that plane.

I've been to NMUSAF four times in the last two years or so, but haven't made it over to the Annex in a long time. I need to get over there one of these days to see the XP-75 and the modified C-131.

Thanks for posting these! I am planning a trip to the museum next month when I am on vacation from work. The last time I was there was in 1997!

Nice photos, thanks. When the new building there at the museum is up in 2 (?) years, many of R & D planes will be inside of this new building along with the presidential aircraft. That will be awfully cool.

A docent told me they're hoping to break ground in the spring.

a few indoor shots. without the proper rig, forget it! lighting in there is the pits! annex is much better for illumination. these super-crummy shots are for folks who don't live an hour away like me. personally the indoor section hasn't been the same since the world cruiser new orleans was pulled out! i think it was my favorite plane, along with that 0-38. but i do like the additions! nice to see them safe and sound and with room for more!
